1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LabProtocol.co ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, with notice provided via email or in-app notification.

2. Account Terms

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian consent to use the Service. One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one free account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Usage Rights

Protocols generated through the Service are owned by you, the user. You may use, modify, distribute, and publish generated protocols for any lawful purpose, including academic publication, commercial research, and internal documentation. We retain no ownership rights over protocols you generate. You grant us a limited license to store and process your input data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Protocols are generated using artificial intelligence and should be treated as starting points, not definitive instructions. All generated protocols should be reviewed by qualified personnel before use in a laboratory setting. LabProtocol.co does not guarantee the accuracy, safety, or completeness of any generated protocol. You are solely responsible for validating protocols against your institution's safety guidelines and standard operating procedures. AI-generated protocols may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information.

5. Payment Terms

Free accounts are limited to 5 protocol generations per month. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at time of purchase. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Failed payments may result in service suspension after a 7-day grace period.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to generate protocols for illegal activities, weapons development, or any purpose that violates applicable laws. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the AI models used by the Service. You may not use automated tools to scrape or bulk-generate protocols beyond your plan limits. You may not resell access to the Service without written permission.

7. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time through the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your stored protocols will be available for export for 30 days, after which they may be permanently deleted. We reserve the right to discontinue the Service with 90 days' notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. IN NO EVENT SHALL LABPROTOCOL.CO OR ITS AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR PERSONAL INJURY ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. THIS LIMITATION APPLIES TO ALL CLAIMS, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of King County, Washington.
