Visit labprotocol.co/signup to create a free account. You can sign up with your email address or use Google/GitHub authentication. Free accounts include 5 protocol generations per month — no credit card required.

From the dashboard, click "Generate Protocol" to get started.

1. Choose a technique — Select from 10+ supported techniques (Western Blot, PCR, ELISA, etc.)
2. Enter parameters — Fill in your experimental details. The more specific you are, the better the protocol.
3. Add a title and description — Give your protocol a meaningful name for your library.
4. Click Generate — Our AI will create a detailed protocol in seconds.

You can upload PDF research papers directly to enhance your protocol generation. Uploaded papers are analyzed to extract relevant methodologies, reagent details, and experimental conditions that inform more accurate and context-aware protocols.

Use the built-in PubMed search to find and import relevant literature without leaving the app. Search by keyword, author, or PMID to quickly pull in reference papers that can guide your protocol parameters.

For complex experiments, combine insights from multiple papers. Select several uploaded or imported papers and generate protocols that synthesize methodologies across sources — ideal for novel experimental designs or cross-disciplinary work.

Each generated protocol includes:

• Materials list — All reagents, equipment, and consumables needed
• Step-by-step instructions — Detailed procedure with timing and temperatures
• Timing breakdown — Total time, hands-on time, and waiting time
• Troubleshooting guide — Common problems and solutions
• References — Relevant literature and resources

Your dashboard shows:

• Current plan and usage for the month
• Recent protocols — Quick access to your latest work
• Protocol library — All saved protocols, searchable and filterable

LabProtocol.co supports dark mode for comfortable viewing in low-light environments. Toggle between light and dark themes using the theme switcher in the navigation bar. Your preference is saved automatically.
